Digital Content & Graphic Design Specialist
Summary / Objective
Visit Winston-Salem is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Digital Content & Graphics Specialist to join our dynamic team.
In this role, you will be responsible for the content creation, curation and analytics of engaging digital content and captivating graphics to promote our destinations, services, and experiences across various online platforms.
The ideal candidate will be someone with exceptional skills for telling compelling stories through photography, video and graphics across all digital platforms.
This person will collaborate closely with the sales and marketing teams to develop visually compelling content that resonates with Visit Winston-Salem’s target audience and enhances the destination’s brand presence.
Responsibilities :
- Develop visually appealing graphics to accompany digital content for websites, social media, email campaigns, and other online channels.
- Develop and oversee the production of print projects that are aligned with the brand standards and voice.
- Create photo, video and visual assets including post-production editing of all photography and videography.
- Perform the day-to-day tasks of posting, monitoring, editing and commenting on all consumer facing social channels and YouTube.
Tasks include but are not limited to :
- Engage social media community in comments, answer questions and providing ongoing support online.
- Elevate sensitive and / or inflammatory comments / conversations as needed.
- Assist and support convention sales department with various marketing support projects including the concepting and supervising the design, layout and development of sales materials.
- Create and edit multimedia content, such as videos and interactive presentations, to showcase our tourism offerings and engage our audience.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to conceptualize and execute digital marketing campaigns that align with our brand strategy and business objectives.
- Stay up to date with the latest trends and best practices in digital content creation, graphic design, and digital marketing to continuously improve our content strategy.
- Manage and maintain a digital asset library in CleanPix, ensuring that all content is organized, tagged, and easily accessible for use by internal stakeholders and maintain legal authorization for content.
- Oversee social media content calendar in line with the communications content calendar, ensuring that content is on brand and consistent across all platforms.
- Monitor the performance of digital content and graphics using analytics tools to evaluate effectiveness and make data-driven recommendations for optimization.
- Work closely with external vendors, freelancers, and agencies as needed to support content creation and graphic design projects.
- Attend media previews, exhibit openings, community celebrations and other events in Winston-Salem to gather photo and video content for various applications.
- Collaborate with Senior Public Relations and Communications Manager to amplify and reshare media mentions and accolades across relevant social media platforms.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Preferred education and experience
- Bachelor's degree in graphic design, digital media, marketing, or a related field.
- Proven experience of a minimum of three years in graphic design, digital content creation, and multimedia production, preferably in the tourism or hospitality industry.
- Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere Pro) and / or other relevant tools.
- Strong creative vision and ability to translate concepts into visually compelling content that tells a story and evokes emotion.
- Excellent understanding of digital marketing principles and best practices, including SEO, SEM, social media marketing, and content optimization.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a passion for creating high-quality, polished content that reflects our brand identity.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate ideas clearly to stakeholders.
Travel required
- Up to three trips per year for professional development, marketing, graphic design and / or social media related activities.
- Must have a vehicle and valid driver's license to perform duties and other job functions involving transportation.
Physical demands
- Able to lift products and displays up to 40 pounds.
- Able to navigate stairs daily.
The annual salary range for this position is $45,000 to $65,000 based on experience plus competitive benefits. This in-person position requires on-site presence in our Winston-Salem, North Carolina office.
