Ocean Import - Control Tower
Role & Responsibilities :
- Responsible for ensuring that all client requested milestones and metrics are being met to exceed client expectations.
- Work closely with origin or destination stations to proactively identify and solve any issues that may lead to service failures.
- Proactively drive quick resolutions.
- Monitor day-to-day account business operations and freight tracking to ensure Morrison meets KPI metrics.
- Assist stations as needed on various tasks including data entry, arrival confirmations, broker notifications, appointment arrangements, arrangement of delivery trucks, billing issues, claims etc.
- Maintain weekly, monthly, yearly transit data and compile into weekly reports on prior week performance.
- Implement on-boarding of new business and enforce client specific SOP’s to ensure compliance throughout Morrison Organization.
- Communicate updates, issues, and solutions to client contacts as needed and serve as local point of contact for account and within Morrison.
- Become fluent with the account’s requirements and on Morrison’s capabilities and strengths.
- Gather and analyze data elements required for reporting and Customer Business Reviews.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications :
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in International Freight Forwarding industry, with an emphasis of working knowledge in ocean operations for export and import.
- Excellent organization, analytical, written, and oral communications skills.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment, while exercising sound judgement.
- Ability to think creatively and strategically to solve complex problems.
- Must be a confident self-starter who can develop effective business relationships, both internally and externally.
- Candidates must be self-motivated, customer service oriented, and eager to ensure the success of the team.
- Ability to function independently, with minimal supervision, and thrive within a fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous environment.
- Excellent computer knowledge, advanced Microsoft Office proficiency
