Want to make a difference in people's lives? Want to help the City of Peoria be the best? The Human Resources department is looking for the perfect individual to fill the Human Resources Specialist position in the recruiting and training area of assignment.
The Human Resources Specialist for recruitment and training is responsible for working with departments to create, publicize, select, and hire the best candidates for various positions citywide.
The Specialist responds to inquiries, processes hiring actions, provides customer service, and coordinates related projects.
Other duties include recommending new and / or changes to existing policies and procedures, attending job fairs, participating in interview panels, conducting equity reviews, performing record retention, and ensuring compliance with all city policies, memorandums of understanding, and local, state and federal regulations.

The ideal candidate for this position will have :
- A minimum of two years of experience in human resources or a related field.
- Associate degree in business or related field (an equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for the degree requirement)
- City of Peoria municipal experience.
- Experience in recruitment or hiring practices, policies, and processes.
- Ability to multitask many recruitments in various stages at the same time.
- Superb verbal and written communication.
