Hunter Hamilton has an opening for a detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist to join a dynamic team with a passion for Healthcare.
This position will work in a hybrid role (professional office setting when onsite), supporting our client in Nashville, TN.
Key Responsibilities :
- Claims Processing : Prepare, submit, and follow up on medical claims to ensure timely reimbursement from insurance companies.
- Billing Accuracy : Review patient accounts for accuracy and completeness, ensuring all charges are recorded and any discrepancies are resolved.
- Insurance Verification : Conduct insurance verification and pre-authorization processes to streamline billing and minimize claim denials.
- Patient Interaction : Communicate with patients regarding their accounts, providing clear explanations of charges, insurance coverage, and payment options.
- Denial Management : Investigate and appeal denied claims, working closely with insurance companies to resolve issues efficiently.
- Compliance : Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations, including HIPAA and coding guidelines, maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
- Reporting : Generate and analyze billing reports to identify trends and areas for improvement in revenue cycle management.
Required Education / Skills / Abilities :
- Education : High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in health information technology or related field preferred.
- Experience : Minimum of 2 years experience in medical billing and coding
- Certifications : CPC, CCS, or similar certification is a plus.
- Technical Skills : Proficiency in billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems; strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Detail-Oriented : Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Communication Skills : Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain complex information clearly to patients and staff.
