Retail Operations Coordinator
The Retail Operations Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day operational activities and projects including but not limited to inspecting internal controls, enforcing bank policies and procedures, auditing, training, streamlining, and operating a teller drawer for the Main Street branch.
This position leads by example by providing prompt, courteous, and excellent service to customers and internal departments by adhering to the behavior standards expectations and maintaining operational integrity with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
The Retail Operations Coordinator stays abreast of best practices, recommends changes to reflect regulatory evolution, adheres to compliance and Bank policies and procedures, and acts as a resource for all other branch locations .
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
30% - Assists Retail Branch Management by :
- Overseeing management of daily operational activities.
- Acts as a resource for guidance on areas of responsibility for all branch locations
- Developing and implementing procedures / policies, i.e., teller and banker handbook, managing updates
- Training and mentoring new and existing colleagues on policies and procedures
- Primary point of contact for branch equipment including vendors (UFS, Enterprises, LLC, AR Service, Burroughs, Thillens, Fiserv, Micron)
- Seeking innovative ways to improve efficiencies in the retail branches by streamlining processes, systems and workflow while maintaining integrity of regulatory requirements
- Being accountable for assigned retail projects that ensures regulatory compliance, improved efficiencies, and being timely with completion and progress
- Staying abreast of best practices, changing regulatory requirements and compliance standards by partnering with BSA Officer and Internal Auditor to achieve best in class retail operations
20% - Audits Retail functions by :
- Developing, implementing, and inspecting internal controls and standards through monthly mock audit review
- Following and ensuring compliance with bank policies / procedures and rules and regulations
- Conducting regular branch audits including but not limited to appropriate cash levels, alarm and security equipment functioning, office security compliance, signage, teller transaction accuracy, etc.
- Implementing office security processes, conducting audits on compliance and training colleagues on how to protect Bank, customers and colleagues from loss and / or fraud
- Regular branch visits to support branch audits and operations, providing timely follow-up and training
- Conducting policies / procedures audits and providing recommendations / training on improvements
50% - Accurately and efficiently performs teller tasks by :
- Welcoming and establishing relationships with customers to provide an extraordinary experience
- Processing bank transactions accurately and efficiently as needed
- Answering telephones, questions and directing callers to appropriate branch personnel
- Generating customer conversation to suggest products and services, referring customers across business lines
- Completing administrative tasks correctly and on time
- Providing guidance / approval on escalated review situations regarding large cash back transactions
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists in Opening and Closing procedures
- Participates in bank-sponsored events and / or community events
- Assists other branch locations when needed
- Serves on internal committees as requested
- Other duties as assigned.
