Christopher's Reason is a substance use disorder facility that specializes in treating those who suffer from addiction. We are a fully operating OASAS licensed 822 Outpatient clinic located on the South Shore of Staten Island.
We are equipped with a full medical, clinical, and peer support team. We also have a Recovery Community Living Center on site that operates 24 / 7.
We are seeking a Certified Recovery Peer Advocate / Peer Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate who is independent and self-motivated with familiarity and experience in the field of addiction with a passion for helping those we serve.
The primary function of a Certified Recovery Coach / Peer Specialist is facilitating outreach with individuals currently in a program or considering treatment.
Utilizing their recovery expertise, professional training and lived experience, peers boost individuals' engagement in treatment and commitment to recovery.

The salary is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities :
- Conducting one on one peer support sessions.
- Facilitating peer support groups.
- Utilizing recovery expertise, professional training and lived experience.
- Serve as a mentor and role model for clients, sharing personal experiences of recovery.
- Outreach to engage individuals currently in a program or considering treatment.
- Educating program participants about various modes of recovery.
- Conduct regular check-ins with clients to monitor progress and offer encouragement.
- Collaborate with other members of the treatment team to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
Experience and Qualifications :
- Certified Recovery Peer Advocate, CRPA.
- CRPA-Provisional, CRPA-P.
- High School Diploma or Equivalency.
- Previous experience working in the field of addiction recovery.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of client interactions and progress.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with clients.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
