Post-Doctoral Position in Multi-Scale Tissue Biomechanics Lab, Boston University

A postdoctoral research position is available in Dr. Katherine Yanhang Zhang’s Multi-Scale Tissue Biomechanics Lab in the Mechanical Engineering Department at Boston University.

Research at our lab focuses on the mechanics and mechanobiology of arteries and extracellular matrix (ECM). We use tightly coupled experimental and modeling approaches to study the unique roles of ECM hierarchical structures and inhomogeneity in maintaining tissue homeostasis and mechanical functionalities of the arterial wall, and to understand the mechanisms that govern the physiological and pathophysiological processes.

We are looking for a self-motivated postdoctoral researcher to work on NIH projects on multi-scale mechanics and structural quantification of ECM and nerve-vascular interaction in vascular remodeling.

Applicants with in-depth knowledge in solid mechanics, finite element modeling, discrete computational modeling, biomechanical testing, and tissue imaging are welcome to apply.

PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or relevant fields are required.

Interested candidates should contact Dr. Katherine Yanhang Zhang at [email protected] . Applications will be reviewed immediately and will continue until a suitable candidate is hired.

Please include in the email : a cover letter, CV, names and contact information of three references, and two publications showing the candidate’s previous research experience.
