Our client is seeking a visionary Design Director to manage and oversee a team dedicated to creating designs for Men's Performance and Lifestyle Footwear!
As a Design Director, you must have a profound understanding of art, elevated craft, and high taste level. You should have a strong graphic and product design knowledge combined with forward-thinking creativity to develop groundbreaking perspectives in the collaboration space.
You will possess the vision to inspire and lead a creative team, along with the collaborative spirit and flexibility to manage multiple projects effectively.
Responsibilities :
- Lead the charge in creating groundbreaking design directions that push the boundaries of creativity and innovation for men's footwear.
- Translate the visions of our partners and brand into impactful graphics and prints for footwear that stand out on the world's biggest stages.
- Drive collaborators' visions while aligning with brand objectives to create true newness by juxtaposing perspectives.
- Report to the Senior Design Director and partner closely with the Footwear Directors, as well as cross-functional partners.
- Foster a collaborative environment where diverse visions come to life, all while mentoring the design team.
- Work closely with the production art team.
Qualifications :
- Experience level : Experienced
- Education : High School
- Minimum of 3+ years of relevant design work experience in a related field.
- Management experience is required. Product design triad background and studio experience are highly preferred.
- Strong illustration, typography, brand identity, and color theory skills.
- Mastery of the creative process, guiding the team through all stages of design.
- Excellent storytelling skills.
- Mastery in presentation and communication skills.
- Ability to lead product creation while leveraging 3D capabilities.
- Proficiency in digital design software (Creative Suite).
- Deep understanding of make and manufacturing processes.
- Profound knowledge of elevated craft.
- Proven ability to inspire and lead creative teams under high-pressure environments.
- Collaborative spirit with excellent soft skills and flexibility to manage multiple projects, work with external partners, and cross-functional teams efficiently.
- Top must-have skills : people-first mindset; previous experience managing people (3-5 direct reports); strategic and flexible approach.
