WHAT WE ARE HUNGRY FOR
We are seeking a Field Training and Development Manager to be responsible for supporting the training and development of field team members based in our corporately owned cafes.
This candidate will be the point of contact for all operational and on-the-job training, including developing supplemental training, informational materials, and close tracking of all new hire and compliance training in the field.
This candidate will work to ensure trainings target adherence to operational standards. Our ideal candidate will help us to drive our culture within our field teams, by focusing on driving our mission, vision and brand values through training and development.
KNOWLEDGE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Partner with Human Resources, Director of Training and Development, and Operations teams on their training and development needs.
- Stay current on retail and food service training best practices to align training needs with proactive strategies to address gaps.
- Facilitate all Corporate cafe field training for new and existing team members, including compliance training, such as Meal and Break, Fair Work Week, Sexual Harassment etc.
- Partner with Operations teams to support with training compliance in Franchise cafes.
- Manage the New Hire Orientation and Onboarding process, for all Corporate field team members, including in-person check-ins of active trainees, identifying any training experience that does not meet our standards, and working with Operations leaders to address gaps.
- Partner with Operations teams to support with the New Hire Orientation and Onboarding process for Franchise locations, to ensure a culture of Paris Baguette values is being created in Franchise locations.
- Provide ongoing coaching and mentoring for both newly hired and existing field team members to ensure smooth onboarding, and continued engagement within the cafes.
- Collaborate with Operations to drive successful implementation and adoption of training initiatives and programs.
- Responsible for the further development and timely upkeep of Team Leader and Retailer training programs.
- Responsible for keeping field training materials and learning aids updated with most current information.
- Ensure that the methods and materials used for training are consistent, on brand and aligned to overall company strategies, and executed in a cost-effective, fun and motivational way.
- Make recommendations to Training and Development Director regarding opportunities to evolve training and ensure our programs have impact.
- Collate and report on training metrics that regularly measure the effectiveness of our training programs.
- Able to translate the company brand into training collateral, including facilitation of that collateral with the brand voice.
- Support café operations during peak sales periods or as needed based on New Store opening support.
- Responsible for creating and executing field focused assessments and surveys to ensure validation of training is happening.
- Build strong partnerships with District Managers and District Production Managers to ensure a thorough understanding of business needs and training gaps needed to be addressed.
- Other duties may be assigned.
WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE
- Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college, preferred.
- At least 3-5 years of Retail / Restaurant experience required.
- At least 3-5 years of training and development experience required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams) required.
- Experience creating course materials, including elarnings modules, job aids, training manuals and assessment tools.
- Ability to facilitate effectively.
- Strong writing and editing skills required.
- Flexible, adaptive, upbeat, open and visible work style, with a successful track record of independently managing priorities and initiatives to success.
