The Position :
The Director of Optical and Retail Clinic Operations leads the successful performance of the Optical retail departments across all Panorama Eyecare locations in Colorado and Wyoming and manages the day-to-day clinical operations for four Optometry locations in the Colorado market.
This position is accountable for ensuring patient satisfaction through clinical excellence, meeting performance targets for Optical Retail sales, and managing optical vendor relationships in partnership with senior leadership.
Responsibilities :
- This position supervises the Optical Department inclusive of three Optical Market Supervisors, Manager of Optical Operations Improvement, and three Office Managers.
- Responsible for all managerial duties inclusive of training, performance management, recruiting, and general oversight while supporting a positive culture and productive environment.
- Develops and maintains outstanding optical, clinical and physician relationships to ensure the highest level of patient care.
- Drive and monitor optical sales performance and margins compared to budget; suggest sales and merchandising strategies to improve sales performance.
- Partners with senior leadership for business and strategic planning.
- Implements initiatives to increase patient volume and referrals for Panorama partner clinics and surgery centers.
- Assists with maintaining efficient clinic flow while quality of care is maintained. Identifies areas of concern in efficiency throughout the clinic and partners with clinic leaders to resolve issues.
- Supports escalated clinic operations concerns; provides oversight and guidance to clinic leaders on day-to-day clinical matters.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents, financial statements, clinical procedures and regulations.
- Ability to effectively create proposals, review contracts, define problems, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
- Proficient with MS Office suite and Electronic Medical Record software.
- Proven track record of retail business growth using financial acumen and sales strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver outstanding patient interactions and experiences.
- Self-starter with a process improvement mindset and ability to problem solve and present creative solutions
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and work with sensitive information.
Education / Certifications / Experience :
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous experience in healthcare operations leadership required, optometry or ophthalmology experience preferred.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in management required.
- Optical knowledge or certification preferred.
Physical Demands :
- Ability to perform sedentary work and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to drive between company locations in Colorado and Wyoming.
Additional Job Details :
- The position can be based in the Denver, CO Metro area of Fort Collins, CO
- Compensation for this role will be $95,000- $125,000 annually, this role is bonus eligible.
