Job Opportunity : Medical Director - Nursing Home

Key Responsibilities :
Clinical Oversight : Lead the medical care of residents, conducting comprehensive patient assessments, developing individualized care plans, and managing chronic and acute conditions.
Diagnosis and Treatment : Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to diagnose illnesses, manage treatments, and coordinate with specialists to ensure residents receive optimal care.
Medication Management : Oversee medication prescribing and management, ensuring appropriate usage, reviewing effectiveness, and providing education to staff, residents, and families.
Leadership and Staff Development : Mentor and guide clinical staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning, professional development, and adherence to best practices in geriatric care.
Regulatory Compliance : Ensure the facility adheres to state, federal, and local healthcare regulations and guidelines, including quality assurance and safety standards.
Family and Resident Communication : Maintain open, compassionate communication with residents and their families, addressing concerns, providing updates, and fostering trust through transparency.
Quality Improvement : Lead initiatives to improve patient care outcomes, enhancing the overall quality of life for our residents through evidence-based medical practices.
Qualifications :
Medical License : A valid and current medical license (MD / DO) in the state.
Experience in Geriatric Care : Demonstrated experience in geriatric medicine, preferably within a nursing home or long-term care setting.
Leadership Experience : Proven leadership skills with the ability to guide a diverse team of healthcare professionals and work collaboratively across departments.
Strong Communication : Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff.
Knowledge of Regulations : Thorough understanding of regulatory requirements and quality standards in long-term care settings.
