JOB SUMMARY : The Director of Fleet will provide strategic leadership in overseeing the purchasing and maintenance of vehicles to maximize profitability and enhance operational efficiency.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Logistics or Finance preferred

Experience

Minimum of 8-10 years of related work experience

Minimum of 5 years in a senior Fleet Management or comparable role

License or Certification

As required by state and federal law

Valid driver's license

Relevant training and / or certifications as a Fleet Manager

Specialized Skills

Extensive experience in Fleet, Procurement, and Facilities management

Proven track record as a Director of Fleet or in a similar executive role

Expertise in working with and maintaining databases, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant tools

Exceptional ability to conceptualize and execute large-scale projects, foreseeing challenges and addressing operational needs

Strategic and tactical thinking capabilities

Proven experience in optimizing all facets of fleet operations through process streamlining and securing the best prices for inventory

Analytical mindset with strong business acumen

Effective problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Outstanding organizational ability

Exceptional interpersonal skills for collaboration with various departments

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to changes

Proficiency in multitasking and effective task prioritization

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Lead the strategic purchase and maintenance of vehicles for deliveries

Conduct research to determine the most cost-efficient procedures for vehicle acquisition, whether through leasing or purchasing

Negotiate and secure best-price contracts to optimize business revenue

Drive continuous improvement in all aspects of the fleet operations department by evaluating and enhancing existing methodologies and processes

Promote a positive corporate image and foster strong inter-business relationships with partners

Maintain professional relationships with vendors, championing company initiatives and values

Oversee inventory procedures to ensure accuracy and efficiency

Implement cost-cutting strategies and initiatives to maximize profit margins

Maintain comprehensive vehicle servicing records and ensure operational efficiency across the fleet year-round

Collaborate closely with Drivers and Auto Mechanics to ensure seamless operations and adherence to company standards

Develop efficient driver schedules to optimize profits

Manage drivers to ensure strict adherence to schedules

Register and license all vehicles under management

Develop and implement strategies for enhanced fuel efficiency

Maintain detailed records of vehicle servicing and inspections

Play a key role in the recruitment of high-quality drivers into the fleet

Please note that the salary information shown below is provided in compliance with state specific laws. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations, and therefore may be different in other locations or operating divisions.

Pay range : $160,000 - $180,000
