SUMMARY OF POSITION : n n n n n

n n Registered Nurses in the Medical Surgical Float Pool are responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care to a designated group of patients with and without telemetry.

The RN’s in the pool will float to the following units : Heart and Vascular Intensive Care, Heart and Vascular Progressive Care, Surgical Anesthesia Intensive Care, Surgical Intermediate Care, Neuroscience Critical Care, Medical Intensive Care, Medical Intermediate Care, Emergency Department and Peri-Anesthesia. n n

n n n MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S) : n n n n n

• n n Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact. n n
• n n AHA BLS prior to end of orientation period. n n

n n n PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS : n n n n n

• n n Three years of RN experience in the field of Medical Surgical Nursing. n n
• n n Current BLS, PALS and / or NRP. n n
• n BSN and Certification. n
