The Analyzer Inspector is a member of the Process Automation Control & Optimization (PACO) Team within the Asset's Technology Department.

The Analyzer Inspector will work closely with and share responsibility with the Senior Analyzer Engineer for the overall technical assurance of the plant process analyzers.

This includes participating in the factory acceptance tests and in the successful commissioning and site acceptance tests for the analyzers.

During the run and maintain phase, this individual's main focus will be day-to-day 2nd level maintenance technical support for complex situational and reliability problems.

This individual will work closely with the Analyzer Maintenance Team Lead (AMTL) to support effective and cost-efficient analyzer maintenance.

The applicant should have extensive experience with Process Analyzers, environmental condition monitoring and familiarity with statistical quality control techniques.

Responsibilities :

Has the primary responsibility for providing technical assurance in Analyzer / QMI areas during Commissioning / Start-up and run-&-maintain phases

The Inspector will act as a direct liaison between the technical and maintenance organizations and is expected to take a lead role in troubleshooting, determining root cause of complex process analyzer problems and developing technically sound solutions

The Inspector will be responsible for the development and execution of the Management of Change work process for reliability related improvements / changes (e.

g., sample conditioning system improvements) with approval of the Analyzer Team lead

Will support and assist in establishing and maintaining Preventive Maintenance(PM) library and detailed PM text (procedures) for analyzers / Quality Measuring Instruments (QMIs)

Will bring forward and implement programs / procedures to maintain exceptional analyzer equipment reliability

Assures compliance to approved Analytical Equipment list, DEPs, and other technical requirements

Supports the consistent implementation of the site's analyzer strategy.

Participates in incident investigations related to analyzers

Contributes directly to finding root cause and resolution of analyzer bad actors

Acts as mentor and 2nd level support to analyzer maintenance technicians

Active in developing training material in Analyzers / QMI areas

Drives the process of sharing analyzer knowledge not only at the local level but across Shell

Ensures maximum reliability of analyzer equipment

Continue to meet existing as well as changing requirements from Regulatory and recognized Governing Industry Standards Association / Bodies

Assist the Sr. Analyzer Engineer and Maintenance Team Leader to develop, maintain and coordinate a training plan for analyzer technicians.

Assist with coordination of on-site or off-site training by others

Recommends equipment upgrades and replacements when situations warrant it, such as high cost of maintainability, Obsolescence, loss of vendor support, more effective technological breakthroughs

Participates in Factory Acceptance Tests & Site Acceptance Tests

Supports in the development and implementation of the Analyzer Turnaround Procedures

Assists with the maintaining the central repository for analyzers with technical manuals, system drawings, software, datasheets

Shares in the collective responsibility of ensuring quality data (history, SQC charts) in the site's Analyzer Maintenance & Data Acquisition Systems (AMADAS) program

May be called in outside normal working hours to assist analyzer maintenance technicians as emergency situations occur

What we need from you

Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.

Associates or equivalent degree in Analyzer, Electrical, or Instrumentation with demonstrated knowledge and practical analyzer related work experience

With at least 7 years of experience in commissioning, operating and maintenance of sample conditioning systems and associated process analyzers including but not limited to Gas Chromatography (GCs), pH, conductivity, Tunable Diode Laser, Total Organic Carbons (TOC), turbidity

Experience in Analyzer Maintenance & Data Acquisition Systems (AMADAS) from Krohne or other suppliers is a plus

Experience in a manufacturing or technical support environment

Experience of Analyzers maintenance in Polyethylene, Ethylene Cracker and Petrochemical industry is a plus

Experience in olefins plants and / or in the polymer plants (PE, PPE) is a plus

Experience in analyzer maintenance execution and project support

Demonstrated analytical and decision making skills

Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills

Ability to cope with a variety of issues and situations

Able to work with diverse groups

Good communication skills (Oral / Written)

Good work planning skills; mainly around scheduling and optimizing Analyzer PMs

Displays Leadership Attributes for Individual Performers with demonstration of self-directing and results oriented attitude.

This person must have the ability to handle multiple tasks with competing priorities while collaborating with the growing Penn Chem Asset and developing roadmap and skillsets to support his / her discipline

This role is based in Monaca Project Office

The base salary range for this position is $84,000 - $126,000 per year. Individual pay will be based on various factors, such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skill level, seniority, and internal equity.

For regular full-time or regular part-time employees of the Company (participating companies as listed in the Summary Plan Description), insurance coverage options include medical, dental, vision coverage, life Insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs.

Employees also participate in a company pension plan and a 401(k) plan. Paid leave includes up to 6 weeks of paid vacation time, up to 11 paid holidays, and parental leave offering 16 weeks of paid leave to birthing mothers, and 8 weeks of paid leave for non-birthing parents.

Additionally, employees are eligible for disability leave for up to 52 weeks at 100% or 50% of base pay. Shell also offers other compensation such financial reimbursement for adoption, wellness, education, and personal learning expenses, and some roles are eligible for discretionary long-term incentives.
