Position Summary
FedData Technology Solutions, LLC (FDTS) is seeking a Junior Integration Technician. This position is an entry level introduction to integration of IT equipment per customer’s requirements;
to include, racking & stacking, component level troubleshooting / repair, cabling, networking and datacenter technologies.
This position will also garner opportunities to work on AV(audio visual) technologies. This position requires occasional travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations.
Essential Job Functions
- Acquire the knowledge necessary to document, rack / stack assemble equipment, testing and delivering the final product for shipping.
- Assist with installation, system validation and travelling to customer locations to install equipment and rack level systems.
- Assist with installation of AV equipment.
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Due to the nature of this position and the information that employees will be required to access, U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Candidate must have an active TS / SCI clearance.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
- Associate degree from an accredited college / university or 2 years of IT experience
- Familiarity with racking and stacking data system equipment knowledge.
- Basic understanding of switch / port configurations, server decommissioning.
- Familiarity with Running and Terminating copper and fiber cables.
- Familiarity with Patch Panels.
- Ability to gain the knowledge to be be able to perform component replaceable of DIMMs Hard drives, Power Supplies.
- A working knowledge of data center processes and design (power, cooling, redundancy).
- Ability to read and understand system design documentation (rack elevations, etc.).
- Ability to document problem resolution summaries and repetitive tasks interfaces through online ticketing system.
Working Conditions :
Work is typically based in a busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Business work hours are normally set from Monday through Friday 6 : 00am to 3 : 00pm, however some extended or weekend hours may be required.
Additional details on the precise hours will be informed to the candidate from the Program Manager / Hiring Manager.
Physical Requirements :
May be required to lift and carry items weighting up to 50 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching and bending throughout the work day.
Background Screening / Check / Investigation :
Successful Completion of a Background Screening / Check / Investigation will be required as a condition of hire.
