Summary : The ASU Process Performance Engineer plays a pivotal role in the realm of Advanced Process Control (APC) by not only designing innovative solutions tailored to meet the specific needs of the organization but also overseeing their effective implementation.
This multifaceted position requires a deep understanding of both the technical aspects of APC technologies and air separation operation and the practical considerations of project execution.
During the design phase, the engineer conducts thorough analyses of existing processes to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement, ultimately crafting solutions that enhance operational performance.
Identify Improvement Opportunities : Utilize air separation process expertise to identify and recommend opportunities where APC applications can enhance process efficiency, operational consistency, and the performance of the base process control layer.
Evaluate Impact : Analyze the potential impact of proposed APC applications on overall process performance.
Scope and Cost Estimation : Assist in developing detailed project scopes, cost estimates, and economic benefit analyses for APC projects.
Identify Critical Activities : Identify and outline critical activities required for project success and collaborate across functions to support project requirements.
Define and Maintain Schedule : Help define and maintain project schedules and budgets, ensuring alignment with project goals.
Oversee Key Activities : Monitor critical activities related to regulatory loop tuning, step testing, identification of key variables, model definition, and model implementation.
Coordinate with Experts : Collaborate with local and international experts to ensure that APC implementation is aligned with Quality-APC (Q-APC) expectations and standards.
Knowledge Sharing : Facilitate knowledge sharing and best practices among team members and stakeholders.
Conduct Weekly Meetings : Organize and conduct weekly review meetings with key project team members to track progress and address any emerging challenges or opportunities.
Seamless Closeout of Projects : Ensure a seamless closeout of open projects by maintaining accurate project documentation and ensuring it is subject to review by relevant stakeholders.
Documentation Maintenance : Keep all documentation organized and accessible for future reference and compliance audits.
Are you a MATCH? Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in chemical, mechanical, or similar engineering field or equivalent work experience
Minimum 4 years of process industry experience working with air separation units (work as process or controls engineer preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with APC software and deployment desired (Yokogawa PACE is desirable)
Knowledge of regulatory control tuning desired
