IT Procurement Specialist (Hybrid)
We have an immediate need for a direct hire IT Procurement Specialist to join a private, non-profit university. The IT Procurement Specialist supports the organization by overseeing all aspects of the technical purchasing program, coordinating the computer refresh program, and acting as a liaison to the Service Desk for deployments.
Location : Seattle, WA (Hybrid). This position is eligible for remote work twice a week after a training period.
This job expects to pay about $70,000 80,000 annually plus benefits.
What You Will Do :
- Collaborate with IT Services staff, campus members, and vendors to create standard hardware product catalogs to meet campus needs, align with technical requirements, and support environmental sustainability standards.
- Support routine end-user purchases : provide quotes, build virtual shopping carts, manage transactions, track orders and packages, receive goods, and document application requests.
- Work with customers to assess their needs and ensure that Service Desk technicians have all the information required for deployment.
- Maintain a product release calendar for computers and tablets so that standards can be tested and updated in a timely fashion.
- Schedule regular product review meetings and test sessions.
- Support institutional goals of simplification, cost containment, and redirection from low-value to high-value investments.
- Work with IT Services leadership to promote understanding of current practices, identify areas for attention, and develop projects to improve value.
- Field requests for application reviews and coordinate the process. Review terms and conditions and license agreements for best practices and red flags.
What Gets You The Job :
- Experience in purchasing.
- Working knowledge of IT hardware, spare parts, and standard business software.
- Strong Microsoft business application skills.
- Great communication skills with the ability to produce effective and accurate written correspondence.
- Able to establish productive working relationships with internal teams and external vendors.
- Buyer / procurement agent and vendor management experience.
- Understanding of purchasing systems, company price / part lists and familiarity with accounts payable transaction processing including procure-to-pay and invoice processing.
- IT ticketing system knowledge.
- Experience working in higher education preferred.
