We have partnered with our client in their search for an IT Associate Project Manager to join the Project Office group. We are looking for experienced associate project managers to work on complex projects partnering with the Business areas.
Responsibilities
- Assists the Project Managers (PMs) to proactively follow-up on outstanding deliverables, issues, risks, action items and notifies appropriate parties of any concerns, risks, or issues identified during meetings, workshops, etc.
- Supports PMs in maintaining a current project schedule, status, and project governance and identifies upcoming activities
- Supports PMs in identifying potential risks / opportunities and recommends mitigation strategies
- Supports Project Managers in project documentation to meet the Delivery Framework audit and compliance requirements including : Project Agreement Project Tracking Control including Issues, Risks, Assumptions, Actions and Change Management Project Certification including Athena, IRP Project Lesson’s learned, Project Implementation and Project Closure
- Applies best practices and knows where to find supporting documentation for the Project team based on methodology used
- Establishes and monitors controls during the lifecycle of the project i.e. change requests, contingency planning in schedules to ensure on time delivery, accurate financial forecasts, etc.
- Builds strong relationship with PMs, Business / Technology Owners and their team members
- Collaborates with colleagues across the organization to get things done.
- Responsible for the maintenance of project metrics.
- Supports the completion of post project reviews and closure in conjunction with project teams
Skills Required
- 2+ years of Experience working as an Associate Project Manager with progressively increasing responsibilities in the areas of delivery management on large or complex projects
- 1+ years of Experience working in the Banking industry
- Proven experience with various project delivery methodologies such as Waterfall, Iterative and / or Agile
- Self driven, attention to detail, excellent time management
- Solid experience with MS Office apps (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) as well as documentation solutions (Sharepoint, Confluence)
- Fast learner on corporate planning and financial management systems
Nice to Have
- Associate in Project Management Certification (PMI CAPM) or equivalent APM certification
- Agile Certification (SCRUM Master, etc)
- Prior experience working at City National Bank or RBC
- Prior experience Wealth Management services and investment products
- Prior experience working with remote stakeholders across multiple North America timezones
- Experience using Jira for requirements and defects tracking
