Accounting Analyst (Ground Operations): 47818

STS Technical Services is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Analyst in White Plains, New York. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and analyzing monthly, quarterly, and annual account roll forward schedules for various balance sheet accounts.

You will also play a key role in managing the financial close process and supporting the annual budget preparation for the Ground Operations team.

Your analytical expertise will be critical in ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with GAAP standards.

Key Responsibilities :

• Financial Reporting : Prepare and analyze financial close packages, including balance sheet account roll forward schedules, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Month-End Close : Manage the Month-End Close process, focusing on prepaid, accrued liabilities, and direct expenses, to support proper accounting practices.
• Invoice Management : Develop and maintain invoice account coding processes, working closely with vendors to obtain and verify supporting documentation.
• Expense Recognition : Prepare analyses to ensure accurate expense recognition in accordance with GAAP.
• Budget Support : Partner with the Manager of Finance Ground Operations in the preparation of annual and semi-annual budgets.
• Data Analysis : Assist in analyzing large datasets for reporting and budget purposes, providing insights to support decision-making.
• Special Projects : Take on special projects as directed to support departmental goals.

Qualifications :

• Education : Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
• Experience : Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance; experience with public reporting companies is preferred.
• Certification : CPA certification is a plus.
• Technical Skills : Proficient in IT systems, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience with JD Edwards software is beneficial.
• Knowledge : Familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley, particularly Section 404.
• Industry Experience : Airline industry experience is a plus.
• Availability : Must be available to work extended hours as needed.
• Analytical Skills : Strong ability to research accounting issues and reconcile balance sheet accounts.
