THE ROLE & SCHEDULE
- We are looking for a camp coach with an athletic or coaching background who ideally has experience in summer camps or coaching kids ages 4 - 9
- KidStrong Camp Coach would focus on coaching children on brain, physical and character development that stems from a designed camp curriculum
- Ideal candidate must also be comfortable speaking to parents / guardians regarding any incidents that take place during camp
- Camps typically run when school is out, from 9am - 2 : 30pm
- Required availability : Monday-Friday 8 : 30am - 3pm for the entire week
- Additional opportunity to increase scheduled hours through private party coaching hours / Parents Night Out
COACH RESPONSIBILITIES
- Camp sizes of up to 20 children, ages ranging from 4-9 years old
- Teach the KidStrong curriculum as provided by the HQ programming team
- Must be able to ensure camp both start and end on schedule and follow appropriate pace of curriculum
- Greet students as well as parent(s) / guardian(s) as they arrive to camp
- Maintain dynamic, fun, motivational and professional demeanor when leading camp
- Demonstrate and manage the implementation of various exercises
- Keep an accurate record of attendance at all times
- Ensure cleanliness of the center including the lobby, bathrooms, and blue floors - this includes taking out the trash, sweeping and mopping, wiping down equipment, and sanitizing the mat at the end of a shift
- Effectively use the KS Coach App to record class data and provide records of data for parents (attendance, awards, etc.)
- Communicate professionally with co-workers in Slack, our company messaging system, including periodic checks of messages when not in centers
- Complete trainings through LearnUpon as required by the HQ Training and Certification team
- Must be able to work in a physically intensive environment - coaches may cover multiple miles in a shift moving through camp, lift and repeatedly move equipment up to 25 pounds in weight
- Must be comfortable working "hands-on" with kids to ensure proper technique and ensure student safety.
- Attend additional mandatory staff meetings as required by KidStrong Director
- Must obtain camp certified status by the HQ Training and Certification team
- Supervision, safety, and program implementation for campers while ensuring the well-being of all children
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Passion for working with children is non-negotiable!
- Prior experience coaching students within the appropriate KidStrong age is preferred
- Intermediate knowledge of physiology, exercise technique, and body mechanics is preferred
- CPR certified
- Positive, motivating and effective interpersonal communication skills
- Self-starter who just gets a job done
