Job Title : Production Mechanic Operator I
Department : Production : Prod in Process Sampling-551, Dry Room-552, Dry Room Nemo-560, Dry Room True Test-557
Reports To : Assistant Manager, Production; Supervisor, Production
FLSA Status : Non-exempt
SUMMARY
Set-up, troubleshoot, perform preventive maintenance, and operate machines. Maintain machine logbooks and parts inventory.
Assist in all aspects of production / packaging and general housekeeping.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- With training be able to perform machine set up and make product size or configuration changes as directed
- Inspect and measure product to specifications using precision instruments
- Maintain equipment logbooks and spare parts inventories
- Perform machine maintenance and repair
- Work with complex written instructions and manuals
- Maintain material / product inventory
- Record production equipment throughputs, results and other related information
- Regularly lift 60 pounds
- Must have basic knowledge of electronic functions
- Must perform specific and required daily and monthly maintenance
- Understand and work under FDA / QSR guidelines
- All other duties as assigned, including but not limited to working in other departments,
- reassignments, etc.
- Adheres to all workplace safety / environmental laws, regulations, standards and practices
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE
College degree or technical school certificate in related field; or one year related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have basic mechanical and electronic knowledge to do simple troubleshooting and make repairs on complex equipment.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to note problems and any corrective action taken in equipment logbook. Communicate verbally and with short notes with supervisor and peers. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

The noise level in the work environment is typical for a Manufacturing environment. All Mechanic Operators must wear safety shoes.
Work environment includes working in an environmentally controlled area that has low humidity and cool temperatures for extended periods of time.
