About Applications Development at UPS Technology :

Our Application Development teams use their expertise in programming languages and software design to develop next-generation technology.

They are responsible for developing the applications which track and move up to 38 million packages in a single day (4.7 billion annually).

This team works closely with all of our customers to build innovative technologies that are customized to drive our business and provide the ultimate customer experience.

As a member of the applications development family, you will help UPS grow and provide valuable services across the globe.

About this role :

The Application Development Manager for SAP applications provides leadership in full systems life cycle management (e.g.

analyses, technical requirements, design, coding, testing, implementation of systems and applications software, etc.) within the SAP suite of applications to ensure delivery is on time and within budget.

He / She guides teams to ensure effective communication and achievement of objectives. This position researches and supports the integration of emerging technologies within SAP or that can be leveraged by SAP suite of applications.

He / She provides knowledge and support for applications’ development, integration, and maintenance. This position will lead senior and junior team members with project related activities and tasks.

This position guides and influences department and project teams. He / She facilitates collaboration with stakeholders. He / She manages the team effectively allocating tasks and priorities as agreed upon with stakeholders.

He / She communicates to the peers within the group on the progress of the different tasks. He / She solves technical issues or functional issues in the assigned application and mentors the team.

He / She provides feedback periodically to the team.

Responsibilities :

• Drive all aspects of technical development from technical design to successfully delivering solutions.
• Manages creation of application documentation.
• Guides system integration.
• Manages applications' maintenance and support.
• Evaluates and monitors emerging technologies and products.
• Manages and develops others.
• Handle project activities including scope, conflicting priorities, issue escalations, and status reporting.
• Be capable of delivering high-quality SAP solutions in a dynamic environment and within challenging timelines.
• Must be able to manage multiple tasks or projects with changing priorities.

Additional details :

• Work closely with business stakeholders on new change requests to evaluate feasibility and provide effort estimate.
• Must possess excellent collaborative and interpersonal communication skills to drive consensus across teams.
• Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and sensitive to established schedules and scopes.
• Should demonstrate flexibility to work with multi-regional teams across different timezones.
• Coordinate with different vendors and track deliverables.

Minimum Qualifications :

• 12+ years of progressive experience in an application development role, with at least 3 years conducting performance reviews of employees.
• 8+ years of experience in building, extending, and operating solutions developed using SAP Technology.
• Strong foundation in software development and architecture.
• Highly technical in the field of SAP ECC functional (SD, MM, FI) and technical aspects of interface builds using IDOCs to support EDI integrations, and also APIs.
• Familiarity with Business Acumen in the logistics space (Order Management and Warehouse Management) and Technical Analysis.

Exposure to healthcare logistics a plus.

Bachelor's Degree or International equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics or related field.
