The Director of the IT Project Management Office (PMO) reports to the Executive Director and will lead and oversee the strategic direction, implementation, and management of IT projects across the organization and requires a visionary leader with a strong background in IT project management, exceptional organizational skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare solutions.

This position will also be responsible for overseeing the IT project management governance structure, and performance monitoring of ongoing and upcoming IT project initiatives to proactively identify potential risks.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategic Leadership : Develop and execute the strategic vision for the IT PMO, aligning it with the overall goals and objectives of Beacon Health System.
  • Project Portfolio Management : Manage the IT project portfolio, ensuring projects are prioritized, planned, and executed effectively to meet organizational needs.
  • Team Leadership : Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of project managers and IT professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Stakeholder Engagement : Collaborate with executive leadership, department heads, and key stakeholders to identify project requirements, deliverables, and success criteria.
  • Resource Management : Allocate resources efficiently, ensuring that projects have the necessary personnel, budget, and technology to succeed.

Knowledge of GAAP principles and corporate policies as they pertain to operating expenses and capital funding.

  • Risk Management : Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Process Improvement : Implement and refine project management methodologies, tools, and best practices to enhance project delivery and efficiency.
  • Performance Monitoring : Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor project progress, performance, and outcomes.
  • Reporting : Provide regular status updates and reports to executive leadership, highlighting project achievements, challenges, and areas for improvement.

Effectively performs various management responsibilities by :

  • Selecting, orienting / training, and supervising staff; evaluating performance and making decisions for pay increases, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
  • Ensuring the ongoing development of staff and the existence of a collaborative, positive work environment.
  • Reviewing the department's performance in relation to established goals; implementing changes to effect continual improvement in the services provided.
  • Ensuring effective working relationship by staff with all members of the organization.

ORGANIZATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Associate complies with the following organizational requirements :

  • Attends and participates in department meetings and is accountable for all information shared.
  • Completes mandatory education, annual competencies and department specific education within established timeframes.
  • Completes annual employee health requirements within established timeframes.
  • Maintains license / certification, registration in good standing throughout fiscal year.
  • Direct patient care providers are required to maintain current BCLS (CPR) and other certifications as required by position / department.
  • Consistently utilizes appropriate universal precautions, protective equipment, and ergonomic techniques to protect patient and self.
  • Adheres to regulatory agency requirements, survey process and compliance.
  • Complies with established organization and department policies.
  • Available to work overtime in addition to working additional or other shifts and schedules when required.

Education and Experience

The knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated below are normally acquired through the successful completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field;

Masterï ½s degree preferred. A minimum of ten years of experience in IT project management, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role.

Certifications : Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent required.
