Job Summary
Cleans and maintains the buildings and grounds daily to ensure neatness and cleanliness. Drives a Salvation Army vehicle to transport passengers to and from Salvation Army activities or to conduct business on behalf of the Salvation Army.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of acceptable driving techniques and practices. Knowledge of safety precautions associated with transporting passengers.
Ability to perform general maintenance and cleaning activities for buildings and grounds. Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
Ability to drive a passenger vehicle ensuring the safety of passengers and protection of the vehicle. Ability to read and follow maps.
Ability to gauge time needed to arrive at destination.
Employees in this position must meet all DOT requirements for vehicles associated with this position at all times.
Minimum Qualifications Required
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or
Six months experience performing general housekeeping / custodial duties; experience operating and maintaining company vehicles preferred.
Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Licenses & Certifications
Valid Driver’s License and must meet TSA MVR Requirements.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read and communicate the English language. Ability to exert the physical energy required to performing housekeeping and minor maintenance work.
Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and climbing.
Work is performed in a normal office environment with some exposure to outdoor temperatures, dirt and dust, and / or disagreeable sights and odors.
Work involves driving a vehicle where there may be physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, snow, heat or discomforts associated with long distance trips or heavy traffic.
