Key duties and responsibilities
The law clerk will work with in house counsels on the preparation of transaction-related documentation, regulatory filings, corporate documentation, or any other legal document produced by the U.
S. Property and Casualty Legal team, organize and assist in submission materials for policy filings with State regulators, conduct legal research and monitor emerging issues.
As time permits, the role holder will be expected to drive and / or support (depending on capacity) the review and development of training materials, 50 states comparative charts, internal policies and processes, economic sanctions screening and other organizational and business-related initiatives.
The role holder may be asked to work closely with the Compliance and Claims teams on relevant matters.
Required experience & competencies

- Problem Solving - Ability to identify and analyze issues, proposals and rolling out relevant solutions after appropriate approvals
- Communication Strong written and oral communication skills the ability to determine how and when to develop / sustain a message and / or an idea and the ability to deploy the right tools to present information
- Independence - A proven self-starter who takes the initiative and can act independently when needed and make his / her own decisions
- Accountability - Alerts, raises the critical points when needed, shoulders and corrects their decisions and shows responsibility regarding cost management
- Curiosity - An appetite for learning and developing themself in their field
Digital Competencies :
- Knows how to efficiently conduct legal research on Westlaw or Lexis Nexis
- Advanced knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel a plus but not required
Education
- Registered as first, second- or third-year law student from an accredited law school or international equivalent
