Responsibilities :
Network Management : Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of network systems (LAN, WAN, VPN) to ensure reliable connectivity.
Performance Monitoring : Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues promptly.
Hardware Management : Manage the procurement, installation, and configuration of network hardware including servers, routers, switches, and workstations.
Maintenance Oversight : Establish hardware maintenance schedules and oversee repairs and upgrades.
Vendor Collaboration : Collaborate with hardware vendors and service providers for procurement, maintenance, and support, negotiating contracts and service level agreements for optimal service delivery.
Security Implementation : Ensure network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus solutions, are effectively implemented.
Risk Assessment : Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments to identify and address vulnerabilities.
Capacity Plannin g : Analyse current and future hardware needs to ensure adequate capacity for growth.
Infrastructure Scaling : Develop strategies for scaling the network infrastructure to meet organisational demands.
Documentatio n : Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, hardware inventories, and service records.
Reporting : Generate reports on network performance, incidents, and resolutions for management review.
Technical Support : Provide advanced technical support for complex hardware and networking issues escalated by frontline staff.
Resource Developmen t : Develop troubleshooting guides and resources for team members.
Disaster Recovery : Develop and test disaster recovery plans related to hardware and network failures, ensuring data backups and redundancy measures are in place.
Training : Train team members on hardware management, network protocols, and troubleshooting techniques.
Continuous Learning : Promote continuous learning and stay updated on the latest hardware and networking technologies.
Cross-Department Collaboration : Work closely with software development, cybersecurity, and systems administration teams to ensure cohesive IT operations.
Project Facilitation : Facilitate cross-departmental projects related to infrastructure upgrades and integrations.
