Program Overview : The Broderick Street Adult Residential Facility (BSARF) is an innovative partnership program between RAMS and the SF Department of Public Health-Community Behavioral Health Services, and licensed by California Department of Social Services - Community Care Licensing Division to operate a 33-bed adult residential facility for consumers who suffer from both mental illness, as well as chronic medical illness.
This is a unique opportunity to work in a milieu community setting with a complex client population, many of whom have experienced long-term institutional or locked placement and / or difficult placement histories.
Treatment, language-capacity, food, activities, and bilingual / bicultural services are tailored to fit the diverse & various needs of the residents.
Job Summary : The Clinical Manager concurrently serves in a clinical and managerial capacity, providing both clinical and administrative supervision to behavioral health staff, as well as provides direct therapeutic services to residents of the facility.
Primary Responsibilities Include :
- Provide leadership, oversight, and administrative support to the multi-disciplinary clinical team to ensure optimal day-to-day operations of BSARF.
- Provide education / training and consultation to clinical and non-clinical staff on behavioral health issues. Serve as the overall clinical leader for the facility.
- Supervise the quality of clinically and culturally competent treatment services and in the therapeutic-milieu.
- Lead treatment team meetings.
- Carry a limited caseload of individual clients; facilitate psychotherapy & activity-based groups; provide collateral therapy sessions.
- Conduct intakes / assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide clinical case management,
- Provide outreach and education on mental health service / issues.
- Assist the facility liaison in working with regulatory entities including Community Behavioral Health Services (CBHS) and DPH Placement Office, of the San Francisco Department of Public Health;
California Department of Social Services-Community Care Licensing Division; CBHS program monitor; and other community-based organizations and agencies, when necessary.

Required Qualifications :
- Master’s degree in Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy, Counseling, Social Work, or other related disciplines from an accredited institution.
- Valid clinical licensure in California (i.e., Psychologist, MFT, LCSW); two years of post-licensure experience with certification to provide clinical supervision.
- Two years of experience working with seriously mental ill consumers; prior clinical experience with co-occurring behavioral health and other issues (medical conditions, substance abuse).
- TB, COVID, health and background clearances, CPR / First Aid certification, and other mandatory State / Federal requirements upon hire.
Other Preferred Qualifications :
- One year experience providing clinical supervision
- Supervisory / personnel management experience in a mental health program services; prior experience conducting staff performance evaluations.
- Two years of experience in working in a milieu and / or residential setting, strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in providing culturally competent in mental health settings.
- Knowledge of AVATAR clinical documentation system, HIPAA standards and billing (i.e., Medi-Cal, Medicare, etc.), utilization review, and data management.
- Knowledge of San Francisco community resources / services and community behavioral health systems of care.
