Professional Electrical Contractors of CT, Inc. (PEC) is accepting resumes for an Journeymen Electrician.

Our work involves - Retail, Academic, Healthcare, Renewable Energy, Fire Alarm & Large PV projects.

PEC is a 40 year Massachusetts based commercial electrical contractor with our corporate office being locate in Canton, MA. .

PEC offers an above average hourly compensation, time and a quarter hourly rate for working nights and an additional $5.00 and hour when working solar.

Primary Function :

Install and repair electrical wirings, equipment, fixtures and other miscellaneous electrical items in an effort to minimize waste of material, avoid unsightly, hazardous and unreliable wiring, provide access for future installations, consistent with the job specifications as well as local and national electrical code.

Responsibilities and Qualifications :

  • Have the proper hand tools for Journeyman
  • Have and wear proper attire (i.e. boots, hardhat, safety glasses & gloves)
  • Follow all PEC policies per the Company Handbook
  • Read, understand and follow all safety policies (PEC, OSHA, GC's)
  • Follow OSHA guidelines
  • Be available for work
  • Be on time for work
  • Travel as needed
  • Know pipe bending
  • Understand basic blueprints
  • Understand and know how to use the current National Electrical Code (both national & states you work in)
  • Maintain 15 hour code update certificate
  • Have three out of the six Electrical Journeyman licenses in the New England states (not including home state)
  • Physically capable of climbing ladders, kneeling, bending, working above your head
  • Able to lift 50 pounds
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen.

  • Correctly install rough wiring
  • Correctly install pipe
  • Correctly install distribution equipment
  • Educate, teach and keep your apprentice working
  • Gain knowledge of fire alarm
  • Gain knowledge of distribution system
  • Gain knowledge of control wiring
  • Gain knowledge of systems wiring
  • All aspects of electrical installation
  • Assist with miscellaneous tasks
