The Georgia Technology Authority (GTA) currently manages the delivery of IT infrastructure services to 89 Executive Branch agencies and managed network services to more than 1,200 state and local government entities.
IT infrastructure services encompass mainframes, servers, service desk, end user computing, disaster recovery and security.
Managed network services include the state’s wide and local area networks, voice, cable and wiring, and conferencing services.

JOB SUMMARY :
The Business Analyst (BA) will serve as a critical link between Information Technology (IT) organizations, data collection teams, and business partners.
This role will focus on leveraging Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power BI to interpret business needs and data analytics to improve processes, products, services, and software through data analysis.
The BA is responsible for gathering, updating, detailing, testing, and documenting requirements in a format that is useful to their business stakeholders while also being actionable for the software development or data management teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Assist in creating testing strategies, plans, and cases to ensure high-quality software delivery. Collaborate closely with developers and business customers to ensure systems meet business needs.
- Analyze Dynamics 365 and other data to identify patterns and perform root cause analyses.
- Provide actionable insights to guide strategic decisions and improve efficiency.
- Develop and enhance complex reports and dashboards using Power BI. Use DAX for custom calculations and implement Row-level Security for data protection.
Optimize data models for performance and accuracy.
- Use Power Pages to create, manage, and publish secure websites, enhancing user engagement and accessibility.
- Serve as the primary analyst for Dynamics 365, configuring and customizing it to meet business needs. Manage Dynamics 365 projects, ensuring they are completed on time and meet requirements.
- Use data-driven insights to propose changes to business processes to increase effectiveness and efficiency.
- Facilitate communication between business stakeholders and IT / data teams to ensure clarity and mutual understanding.
- Produce detailed reports and presentations that interpret data and recommend solutions.
- Maintain clear and useful documentation for all stakeholders.
- Leverage advanced analytics tools and techniques to meet business needs.
- Participate in documentation reviews and analysis to support recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with data handling regulations and best practices.

AGENCY SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS :
Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in business or related field from an accredited college or university AND Two years of experience related to the area of assignment.
Note : An equivalent combination of education and job-specific experience that provided the knowledge, experience, and competencies required to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted on a year-over-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications :
Preference will be given to candidates who, demonstrate some or all of the following skills / experience) :
- Master’s degree or beyond in Data Science, Data Information, Data Analytics, Business Administration, IT, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
- Proficiency in at least one of the following areas with a minimum of 2 years of experience in Dynamics 365, Power BI, or Power Platforms
- Holding a certification in one of the following : Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), a Certified Data Analytics Certification (CBDA), Microsoft Dynamics 365 Certification (MB-910), or Microsoft Certified Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300), and / or Microsoft Certified Power Platform (PL-900).
- Experience working with the State of Georgia or other state government entities.
- Experience working with Portfolio / Project Management applications.
- Private sector consulting experience.

Hiring Salary : *$53,100-67,
Worker Type : Hybrid State of Georgia Remote Work Option
