Position Summary

The Chair of the Caris Precision Oncology Alliance (POA) provides the vision and executive leadership for the continued development of the leading cancer research enterprise in the world exclusively focused on precision oncology.

The vision of the POA is to build a best-in-class collaborative research network of leading physicians and oncologists to field precision medicine clinical trials, identify and better characterize predictive and prognostic markers, and further advance the integration of molecular profiling into all aspects of cancer care.

Through partnerships with POA cancer centers, the Chair of the POA leads the development of the world’s leading collaborative research group focused on Precision Medicine and the improvement of patient care.

The Chair works closely with POA leadership and members, leading academic and community care centers to :

Integrate molecular testing into cancer care and patient treatment management.

Collaborate on clinical trials and research studies.

Track longitudinal clinical outcomes, contribute data, and correlate outcomes with molecular clinical demographic attributes.

Publish innovative abstracts and manuscripts in top-tier journals promoting academic advancement in molecular profiling and its impact on clinical care.

Job Responsibilities

In partnership with POA executive and site leadership teams, drive the development and implementation of clinical trials that incorporate the benefits of Precision Medicine to improve oncology care and extend patients’ lives.

Develop and implement collaborative research studies across the POA and coordinate outcome tracking initiatives to generate and document additional medical evidence for the appropriate use and impact of profiling.

Collaborate closely with POA working groups to foster research strategies, publication activities and study protocols that advance research in individual cancer lineages.

Ensure POA members are able to leverage the Caris clinic-genomic data to optimize clinical trial design and enrollment.

Continuously develop new and existing customer relationships for Caris’ Precision Oncology Alliance and institutions of strategic significance.

Participate in Executive level discussions regarding collaborative projects for members of the Precision Oncology Alliance.

Monitor and communicate on clinical molecular genomics developments, i.e. competitors, new technology, new test offerings, etc.

Understand the genomic profiling market landscape and must be able to articulate Caris’s value positioning in a convincing, scientific, and effective manner.

Collaborate with Executive Leadership, Medical and Commercial team to develop strategic initiatives and develop Executive relationships in key institutions.

Collaborate closely with leadership of Medical Affairs and other Medical Affairs teams (e.g., Clinical Translational Research Group and Medical Science Liaisons) to support the overall mission of Medical Affairs.

Manage a team of leaders (VP level) who cover the US on a regional basis.

The role covers the US and is national, though with the potential for significant international involvement through ex-US POA sites.

Required Qualifications

MD or MD / PhD.

10 + years of extensive executive academic institution and community alliance building experience with an oncology background is required.

Experience with Executive level collaborative initiatives of strategic significance with Molecular Diagnostics, Anatomic Pathology and / or Genomics.

Executive level and / or C-Suite relationship management experience.

Effective presentation skills and high EQ attributes.

Conditions of Employment : Individuals must successfully complete pre-employment process, which includes criminal background check, drug screening, and reference verification.

All job specific, safety, and compliance training are assigned based on the job functions associated with this employee.

Other

This position requires periodic travel and some evenings, weekends and / or holidays.

Annual Hiring Range

$440,000 - $500,000

Actual compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and / or skill level.

The pay ratio between base pay and target incentive (if applicable) will be finalized at offer.
