Inventory & Shipping Team Leader

Job Description

The Inventory & Shipping Team Leader is responsible for all coil inventory activities at both the Middletown Plant and Midd Cities Warehouse.

These activities include incoming coil receiving, outgoing coil dispatch, coordinating the movement of inventory (raw, finished goods, secondary, HFI) between Plant and Warehouse, documentation management and Oracle data management.

The Team Leader exercises direct supervision over their hourly work force team members with respect to safety, environment, quality and productivity.

The Team Leader fosters a positive team environment and is a strong advocate for teamwork and collaboration. The Team Leader supports the ongoing development of employees and a culture of continuous improvement.

The Team Lead constructively interacts with production, quality, maintenance, engineering and customer service personnel to support the needs of our customers and our business.

Duties include but are not limited to :

• Comply with all safety and environmental policies and contribute to the company’s Zero Harm commitment
• Leading the control of inventory movement incoming, outgoing and within Plant and Warehouse.
• Managing documentation and Oracle data management.
• Leading the processing of secondary product including securing quotes and coordinating collection.
• Monitoring team performance and taking corrective where required.
• Investigating problems, safety issues, employee performance issues and taking corrective action.
• Capturing production and quality data and preparing shift reports.

Qualifications

Minimum :

• High School Education or GED required.
• A minimum of five years industrial and / or supervisory work experience.

Preferred :

• Overhead crane operation
• Safe operation of forklift and use of power tools
• Computer and tablet understanding
