Job Description and Duties

Provide initial Occupational Therapy evaluations and direct services to students who are referred by their Educational Team.

Prepare and present written reports to student Individual Educational Plan Team meetings. Conduct classroom observations and consult with teachers and parents to provide suggestions for classroom accommodations that will enable a student to be more successful.

Provide ongoing and follow-up consultation services to teachers and parents. Participate in Individual Educational Plan (IEP) meetings when needed.

Develop and keep track of assessment plans and timelines. Communicate with the Office Technician and IEP Coordinator when an IEP meeting is needed.

Conduct workshops and in-service training for teachers and parents to educate and enhance understanding of Occupational Therapy issues.

Provide both formal and informal consultative services to school staff, and also to parents and professionals in the community.
