Position Overview :
Banyan Living is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Leasing Consultant to join our team in Uniontown, Ohio.
The leasing Consultant acts as an initial ambassador between the public, the residents of the apartment community, and the community management team.
The ideal candidate will possess strong customer service skills, have a positive personality, and a passion for ensuring the highest standards of professionalism.

The Leasing Consultant is responsible for providing exceptional service to community residents and internal team members.
They must provide the community with value and quality by assessing the needs of clients they are assisting and providing a solution that not only coincides with the goals of the community but is beneficial for all concerned parties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Greet prospects and qualify by covering all criteria (ask questions; utilize completed guest cards, etc.).
- Record all telephone and in-person visits in Yardi Voyager
- Files own guest cards and maintain according to established procedures.
- Inspect models and available "market ready , communicate related service needs to Property Manager.
- Demonstrate community and apartment / model and product knowledge to clients’ by communicating the features and benefits; close the sale.
- Have prospect complete application and secure deposit in accordance with the company procedures and Fair Housing requirements.
- Update availability report, process applications for approvals. (i.e., credit check, rental history, etc.)
- Follow up with applicants regarding status.
- Ensure the apartment is ready for residents to move-in on the scheduled date in lease agreement.
- Follow-up on prospects that did not close and attempt to close sale again.
- Secure new resident’s signature(s) on appropriate paperwork prior to move-in.
- Orient new residents to the community.
- Assist in monitoring renewals. Distribute and follow-up on renewal notices.
- Always represent the company in a professional manner.
Qualifications :
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- One (1) years’ experience in previous relevant customer service or sales field.
- Must be a self starter and proactive.
- Commitment to excellence and high standards.
- Excellent problem resolution and consultative sales skills.
- Ability to diffuse and respond to customer concerns and avoid escalation of problems.
- Fair Housing Certification, or willingness to obtain upon hire.
- Ability to support and contribute to the community team.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Must possess a positive attitude and the ability to smile in difficult circumstances.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings.
