SUMMARY

Assist in developing and procuring complete supply of highest quality floral merchandise available for resale to the membership.

This position's basic purpose is to use all available resources to assist the Fresh Sales / Produce / Floral Merchandising Department in continuous sales growth and financial success.

Schedule Monday through Friday, nine hours per day. Salary starting at $, per year.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Ability to perform the following duties along with all other duties as requested by the department head and upper management.

It is the responsibility of each individual at AWG to provide ultimate customer service to our members to support their efforts in increasing same store sells and profits.

  • Weekly price changes and price checks
  • New Item set-up and maintenance
  • Assist in development of weekly Floral Bulletin
  • Coordinate Uploads with Members
  • Contact Stores regarding late uploads
  • Check off stores to make sure no stores are missing
  • Review uploads to determine needs
  • Create PO’s that match determined needs Identify over / above buys that can be brought in and sold
  • Communicate with Shippers regarding PO’s
  • PO delivery appointments (work with Receiving on any special instructions)
  • Review PO’s upon arrival for accuracy
  • Review Orders on a daily basis to ensure Service Level (below % is not good in floral)
  • Communicate variances to Floral / Produce Sales Manager
  • Communicate with Warehouse regarding shipping and receiving issues
  • Daily Warehouse walk to determine actions on product left over
  • Contact for Members on Daily needs
  • Communicate slot issues and temperature zone issues to Floral / Produce Sales Manager
  • Key scratches, miss-picks and any short credits to move product remaining
  • Communicate with traffic for California product and any straight loads
  • Communicate any PO Shorts to affected members. Communicate shorts to Vendors.

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE : Degree or equivalent; or one to two years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS : Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS : Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY : Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
