Prime Air is seeking an experienced Structural Analysis Engineer who combines superb technical and analytical capabilities with a demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively.

Export Control License : This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Placement is contingent on Amazon’s ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf.
Key job responsibilities
The ideal candidate will have experience analyzing full air vehicle or drone structures, as well as detail parts and mechanical systems.
Practical knowledge of prototype design as well as production run manufacturing methods as it pertains to stress analysis and design trade offs is a plus.
The Mechanical and / or Aerospace Stress Analyst will be responsible for :
- Development, integration and documentation of structural requirements to establish the system design
- Guiding product design and verifies structural integrity by using and developing analytical methods, finite element models / simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance
- Modeling and measurement of airframe and system vibration
- Leading development of test plans and configurations, supports test execution and analyzes / reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications
- Defines and documents certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied
- Interdisciplinary collaboration to execute product designs from concept to production, including design, prototyping, validation, testing and certification
- Interfacing with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality and outside vendors to ensure a smooth transition to production

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- BS degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
- Experience with prototyping and implementation
- 5+ years of experience in the analysis of complex structural aerospace designs and testing
- Experience in Finite Element analysis of composite structures
- Expertise in at least one of the following FEA software packages : ANSYS, NASTRAN, ABAQUS, SOLIDWORKS
- Basic understanding and use of principals, theories and concepts in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Robotics engineering and design
- Experience in planning and execution of static and dynamic tests for structures and mechanical subsystems
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
- Experience in the design of complex mechanical products and equipment at volume
- Demonstrated understanding of the aircraft design process
- Experience in structural dynamics
- Experience with Mil Handbook 17 and standard AGATE / ASTM test methods
- Proficiency in Python, Matlab, or equivalent scripting languages
- Multi-physics modeling a plus
