Salary Range : $52,177-$73,047

- Associate’s Degree in accounting, finance, data analytics / science, business, or equivalent experience required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Three to five years’ experience with HRIS and / or Business / Finance related software, school district experience preferred.
Skyward experience preferred.
- Experience supporting electronic timekeeping (processes, hardware, and software).
- Advanced knowledge and use of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) required for documentation and data reporting calculation purposes.
- Experience working with databases.
- Ability to interpret complex instructions and correspondence.
- Ability to perform basic and advanced mathematical computations.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written.
- Consistent record of satisfactory attendance and work performance.
- Ability to establish and maintain rapport with staff, business associates and the general community.
- Ability to work on multiple tasks and prioritize appropriately.
- Ability to work independently with strong decision-making skills.
- Ability to effectively train end users in person and virtually.
- Critical attention to detail.
- Satisfactory clearances, including criminal and child abuse clearances (Acts 34, 114, and 151).
Summary
Under the supervision of the Director of Internal Accounts and Systems, Financial Data Manager will support Finance, HR, and Payroll related processes, software configuration, data integrity, reporting, documentation, and security.
The Financial Data Manager will work with other departments (Technology Services, Human Resources, Grants, etc.) to assist with data integrity and reporting projects.
This position also acts as a liaison between the District and software vendor(s), supporting and promoting full use of the software by end-users to increase efficiency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Facilitate and provides support in the use of Finance, Human Resources, and Geographic Information System software.
- Assists with the preparation and processing of all activities and processes required to achieve accurate and timely support for Business Office users the Allentown School District and Allentown Public Library.
- Administer, maintain, and audit user security and access to Finance / HR software modules.
- Knowledge of Generally accepted Accounting Principals as they relate to payroll and personnel.
- Develop and / or assist with data reporting using proprietary software tools and other software as required.
- Support annual Financial and Human Resources end-of-year processes.
- Interact with end-users providing first-line technical support.
- Ensure that users’ concerns are addressed quickly and effectively by characterizing the problem and consulting with software provider when necessary.
- Communicate with staff and administrators regarding problems / resolutions.
- Create process documentation and revise existing desk procedures, as needed.
- Provide individual and group training related to Finance / HR software procedures.
- Develop new, and continuously improve, finance / payroll / human resources processes.
- Ability to exercise judgement when to act independently and when to refer situations to administrators when necessary.
- Ability to concentrate on the accuracy of detailed information.
- Communicate and maintain a close working rapport with Human Resources Department to ensure the timely processing to existing employees and new hires.
- Ability to apply general rules / contracts to specific situations and produce logical answers.
- Knowledge of District Personnel Policies and Procedures as well as State / Federal Laws and Regulations.
- Understand the implications of new information for both current and future problem solving and decision making.
- Perform other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as assigned or delegated by the supervisor.
