JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary
Department : Occupational Therapy
Shift Timings : 07 : 00 - 15 : 30 Hours - Monday to Friday (5 days / 8 hours).
Per week : 40 Hours
Responsibilities
- Conducting physical and psychological assessments of clients and developing or following a treatment plan.
- Assessing home and work environments of clients and deciding what adjustments are needed.
- Advising on adaptive equipment to help clients with daily activities.
- Developing physical rehabilitation programs to help clients regain lost skills.
- Preparing clients for a return to work.
- Educating caregivers and family members of clients on patient care.
- Evaluating results and progress of occupational therapy on clients.
- Maintaining professional knowledge and the technical progress in order to provide clients with the best treatment program available.
- Complying with federal, state, and local certification requirements.
- Evaluating patient condition regarding physical and basic mental health.
Qualifications
- Inpatient Rehab; performing evaluations and treatments for primarily neurological conditions including stroke, brain injury, multi-trauma, post spine surgery;
- electronic medical record - Cerner / Onechart; typically assigned
- 4-6 patients per day with expectation of billing 24 units per day.
- Work schedule Monday - Friday with rotating weekends.
- BLS and ACLS
- National Institutes of Health (NIH)
- Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
- The ability to stand for extended periods.
- Strong technical skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Passionate about patient care
- Requires a minimum of two years of current Occupational Therapist experience.
- Graduate from a fully accredited Occupational Therapist program
- Active unencumbered California state license
- One year of Cerner experience
