RNG Plant Supervisor

RNG Plant Supervisor summary :

The RNG Plant Supervisor will be responsible for monitoring safety, quality, efficiency, schedules, budget, housekeeping, and required documentation, including supervision of department employees and coordination of daily activities.

RNG Plant Supervisor responsibilities :

• Responsible for biogas collection operations and maintenance duties at assigned farms.
• Direct tasks to technicians in daily activities with a goal of optimizing facility operation.
• Manage staff schedules to stay in compliance with biosecurity requirements.
• Responsible for grounds and regularly scheduled equipment maintenance coordination.
• Support technicians during maintenance projects on major mechanical equipment.
• Oversee safe work practices including lock-out / tag-out, confined space permits, and use of proper personal protective equipment.
• Perform annual appraisals of direct reports.
• Procure tools and equipment necessary to complete work tasks.
• Enforce company policies and procedures.
• Maintain staff by assisting with recruiting, selecting, and training employees; counsel and discipline employees; perform annual appraisals of direct reports.
• Work closely with EHS and HR departments.
• Travel domestically between domestic projects and to the St. Louis headquarters (up to 20%).
• Develop and maintain relationships with employees at all locations.
• Conduct activities in a safe and healthy manner, and work in accordance with established safety and company requirements.
• Assist and / or operate facilities as need arises.

WORK ENVIRONMENT :

Work is performed in a farm / processing operation atmosphere. Exposure to harsh conditions such as : dust, fumes, chemicals, hazardous materials, noise, and varying weather and temperatures is normal.

All employees are required to follow safety standards and wear all personal protective equipment as defined.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILL / ABILITY / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE :

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. is required.
• Prefer five (5) years of Plant Operation experience.
• Supervisory experience is preferred but not required.
• Ability to read blue prints and other technical documents is required.
• Ability to properly train new employees in biogas processing plant operation.
• Must possess strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, problem solving and decision-making skills, as well as initiative and the ability to delegate decision making and other responsibilities.

Ability to handle multiple time sensitive projects and issues. Must work well under pressure.

• Basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting are required.
• Ability to read and understand schedules and basic business acumen is required.
• Computer skills and a basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows based programs is required. Must be able to learn additional software;

SharePoint, Ignition, MaintainX, GoCanvas, etc

• Strong math skills are required.
• High level of energy and motivation.
• Must possess the ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel, both hourly and management, in a team environment.
• Ability to work flexible hours with weekend and some holiday work required.
• Must have a valid driver license and maintain an acceptable motor vehicle record report.
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must comply with business core values for the safe and efficient operation of the business and maintain sound relationships among and with employees.
