The pay for this position ranges from $112,000 - $130,000.

FuelCell Energy, Inc. has an opening for Supervisor Electrical Engineer out of Danbury, Connecticut.

Job Duties :

  • Designs, evaluates and supports equipment for power generation and conversion including inverters.
  • Develops engineering drawings (including electrical one-line and three-line diagrams, cable and conduit schedules, and equipment wiring diagrams).
  • Prepares documentation for engineering changes and product design verifications.
  • Evaluates components and processes used in distributed generation systems.
  • Writes procedures, specifications, and preventative maintenance plans.
  • Works closely with key electrical equipment suppliers to select components and equipment based on analysis of specifications.
  • Performs data analysis and interprets data.
  • Configures / programs electrical devices such as variable frequency drives.
  • Provides engineering support to service personnel.
  • Ensures the company's designs meet current regulations and standards.
  • Leads a small team of junior electrical engineers as direct reports.
  • Mentors team members sharing technical knowledge.
  • This is a hybrid position; may work from home up to 3 days per week.
  • This position requires 10-15% domestic or international travel.

Qualifications :

Must possess at least a master’s degree or its equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a related field and at least 3 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer or a related role.

In the alternative, at least a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a related field and at least 5 years of progressive experience as an Electrical Engineer or a related role would be acceptable.

  • At least 3 years of experience with high voltage design.
  • At least 3 years of experience with industrial electrical systems design.
  • At least 3 years of experience with national electrical codes and safety standards.
  • At least 3 years of experience communicating with technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
  • At least 1 year of experience with renewable energy or utility equipment.
