Overview
LMI is seeking a skilled Policy Specialist to support the United States Postal Service (USPS) and U.S. Postal Inspection Service (USPIS).
The Policy Specialist will support the assessment, adjudication, updating, and reporting on USPIS policies. After workshop-driven assessments, the Policy Specialist will support the creation, update, or retirement of USPIS policy.
The Policy Specialist will support analysis, drafting, administration, and client coordination. A successful Policy Specialist will support their Task Lead and Program Manager in developing solutions to policy issues, maintaining disciplined records, developing excellent products, maintaining deadlines and requirements, and delivering high-quality outputs to the client.

Responsibilities
Support the development and writing of policies and policy-related materials (guidance documents, standard operating procedures, etc.
to direct work processes
- Support coordination, scheduling, and administrative duties
- Track risks and key decisions regarding policies
- Develop critical tracking documentation, including a Excel matrix of changes to the document and track-changes documents, to ensure auditability
- Develop policy drafts and PowerPoint presentations for customer iteration, review, and signoff
- Help the LMI team deliver excellence, including reaching program milestone achievements and assessing customer feedback
- Work iteratively and collaboratively with LMI team to navigate nebulous and challenging policy problems
- Ensure consistency across products and recommendations related to policy taxonomy and treatment
Qualifications
Minimum
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in a policy, management, business, or related field
- Prior consulting experience
- Must be able to obtain a Position of Public Trust Clearance
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills with a "client first" attitude
- Strong organizational skills and an understanding of project management best practices
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with a team of contributors
- Ability to balance competing priorities and exhibit flexibility based on changing client needs
Desired Skills
- Master's Degree or higher in policy, management, business, or related field
- Experience supporting USPS or USPIS highly preferred
- Experience in law enforcement or related policy
- 5+ years supporting federal or commercial entities
- Human Centered Design (HCD) training and / or experience
- High level of business acumen, ability to develop and implement strategy
