Position Information Job Title Adjunct Welding Instructor Location Yuba College - Marysville, CA. Job Description BASIC FUNCTION :
- Develop and deliver instructional lectures for Agriculture courses up to 10 hours / week
- Organize and teach all levels of Welding classes
- Use appropriate teaching methods to facilitate student learning;
- Teach day, evening, and / or weekend teaching assignments, which may include distance learning (interactive television, online) and accelerated courses;
- Assess Student Learning Outcomes every semester;
- Participate in department, division, and college-wide initiatives and committees if desired
Essential Duties Summary REQUIRED DUTIES :
Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
Required Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
The minimum qualifications for disciplines on this list are any bachelor’s degree or higher and two years of professional experience, or any associate degree and six years of professional experience.
- Any associates degree and six years of experience OR
- Any bachelor’s degree and two years of experience OR
- The equivalent OR
- Possess a California Community College life credential in the subject matter area
- Professional experience is required when the applicant possesses a master’s degree. The professional experience required must be directly related to the faculty member’s teaching assignment.
- OR the equivalent.
Desired / Preferred Qualifications EXPERIENCE / DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS : Preference may be given to applicants with :
- Previous teaching, employment, or student experiences that provide the candidate with the ability to successfully teach courses in welding or manufacturing
- Professional welding certification
- ASE certification or experience in other areas of automotive repair
- Experience working in an auto body repair, painting or refinishing shop
- Experience supervising and / or working with a diverse population
- Qualifications to work in other departments such as hydraulics, automotive technician, auto body repair, or agriculture
- Background in the use of technology in the classroom / laboratory
- Welding Inspector certification
- Experience in metal fabrication
- Preference may be given to candidates with life or teaching which would demonstrate the clear ability to teach Welding to community college students.
