Civil / StructuralField Engineer to support Dock Expansion and Renovation
Roles &Responsibilities :
- Facilitate civil construction and structuralinstallations (foundations steel erection etc.) & commissioningactivities.
- Provide subject matter expertassistance in review of product and equipment submittals shopdrawings engineering design drawings and specifications &contractor generated RFls.
- Extensive knowledgeof safety procedures safe work practices and OSHA requirements forcivil and structural installations including but not limited toLockOut Electrical Safe Work Practices Control of Hazardous Energy& arc flash safety.
- Possess extensiveknowledge of prevailing building codes and professional industrystandards (including but not limited to : IBC NEC NESC NFPA ASMEAMCA ARI AWS ASHRAE EM).
- Work with buildingconstruction contractors and equipment vendors to coordinateequipment factory testing. delivery installation commissioning& handover to end users.
- Coordination ofweekend and plant shutdown work with contractors plant facilitiesgroups & manufacturing shop
- Conduct workprogress inspections on a continuous basis.
- Support construction administration activities related toschedule coordination quality confirmations weekly coordinationmeetings and planned utility outages.
- Conductinspections and observations of civil and structural buildingsystems for compliance with project specifications qualitystandards & applicable codes.
- Oversee workof civil and structural contractors for adherence to projectdelivery methods schedule milestone targets & coordination withother groups.
- Prepare field engineering statusreports of work progress and schedule to ProjectManagers.
- Provide input and feedback toimprove project technical specifications and standards.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical matters inwritten & verbal formats.
- Ability tomultitask manage time & prioritize project commitments based onestablished deadlines and project milestones.
Experience &Qualifications :
- 2 years inconstruction management.
- Experience in designcriteria development for civil & structural systems.
- Automotive experience with engine transmission or vehiclefacilities or similar industrial manufacturer.
- 5 years in civil and / or structural designfield.
- Good organizational skillscommunication skills schedule management skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel Word PowerPoint OutlookProject
