NATURE AND SCOPE TheManager, Accounting reports to the VP, Controller and assists in theoversight and completion of the department 's daily accountingactivities including general ledger entries, balancing andreconciliations.
This role is responsible for developing and automatingdepartment reporting and oversees the investor reporting function.
TheManager, Accounting leads a team of Staff Accountants and is responsiblefor fostering a collaborative team environment.
REQUIREMENTS 1.Bachelor 's degree in accounting and a minimum of five years relevantaccounting experience and a minimum of two years of experience managingpeople.
Previous accounting experience in a financial institution ispreferred.
CPA license is a plus.
Strong analytical skills withdemonstrated ability to independently and collaboratively problem solve.5.
Strong communication skills and experience building a collaborativeenvironment within an accounting team and across other internaldepartments.
Demonstrated knowledge of accounting internal controlsand confidentiality standards.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite(Outlook, Word, Power Point, Teams) and have a strong knowledge of Exceland experience working in accounting systems.
Must develop a thoroughunderstanding of company policies and procedures as they relate to thisposition.
Must understand and comply with all job-related State andFederal laws and regulations.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES 1.
Overseesdaily accounting activities including general ledger entries, balancingand reconciliations to ensure adherence to established controls andmonthly close timelines.
Manages the Staff Accountant team, creatinga collaborative team environment.
Prepares, reviews and approvesmonthly journal entries.
Prepares complex account reconciliations byanalyzing the source of transactions and effect on accounting systems;and ensures appropriate accounting treatment.
