Summary : The Employment Specialist will assess individuals on career options and assist and train individuals on paid on-site contract work and off-site employment opportunities.
Schedule : Monday - Friday 8 : 00 am - 4 : 00 pm
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Coordinate with the Employment Manager regarding Individual Service Plans.
- Implements an individualized program, based on each person's needs following their Individual Service Plan.
- Maintain data on designated objectives per the Individual Service Plan.
- Administer, tabulate, and interpret work-related assessments to determine each person's career choices.
- Participate in job site tours.
- Assist in evaluating each individual's job performance semi-annually.
- Assist with upkeep and maintenance of the program, follow the cleaning schedule, and report any maintenance issues.
- Maintain all appropriate certifications including FA / CPR and PABC.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Education / Experience :
- A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required.
- One year of experience working with individuals with disabilities.
- Experience with contract work, and off-site employment is helpful.
Required Skills / Knowledge :
- Knowledge and understanding of principles of normalization, behavior management, and human rights
- Valid driver's license and one year of driving experience.
- Basic computer skills.
Physical Demands :
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to climb stairs.
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds.
- The employee must be able to drive a vehicle.
- Must have a normal range of eyesight with or without corrective lenses.
- Must have a normal range of hearing with or without corrective equipment.
