Job Title : Chef de Cuisine
Reports To : Executive Chef / Executive Sous Chef
Position Summary :
The Chef de Cuisine will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the hotel restaurant and ensuring the highest quality of food production.
The ideal candidate should have a passion for cooking, strong leadership skills, and extensive knowledge of culinary techniques and international cuisines.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Plan and oversee the preparation of all menu items according to standard recipes and specifications.
2. Develop new menus, seasonal specials, and innovative dishes while maintaining cost control measures.
3. Monitor food supplies and kitchen inventory to ensure timely ordering and proper storage.
4. Train, supervise, and motivate kitchen staff in order to maintain high standards of food preparation and presentation.
5. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
6. Work closely with the Executive Chef / Executive Sous Chef to develop financial budgets, forecasts, and reports related to food costs.
7. Collaborate with other departments such as Banquets, Events, and Sales to ensure smooth operation of events requiring food service.
8. Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked kitchen at all times.
9. Conduct regular inspections to ensure that equipment is in good working condition and report any maintenance needs or issues immediately.
10. Continuously strive to improve overall guest satisfaction by soliciting feedback on food quality and service.
Qualifications :
1. A degree or diploma in Culinary Arts from an accredited institution is preferred.
2. Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role in a high-end hotel or restaurant setting.
3. Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
4. Thorough understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, sanitation standards & inventory management systems.
5. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to train junior staff members effectively.
6. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate professionally with guests, colleagues & suppliers.
Working Conditions :
- This is a full-time, 40-hour per week position.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50lbs.
