The Strategic Communications team at WSU Tech is seeking a talented, incredibly detail oriented, deadline-driven, creative, and self-motivated Visual Designer! If you have a strong physical and / or online portfolio with a minimum of 2 years of professional design experience showing creative and engaging design for both print and web, you may be just who we are looking for! Under the direction and supervision of the Creative Director & Marketing Strategist, the Visual Designer will be tasked with numerous design projects to attract leads, announce new programs and events, support internal departments and stakeholders, enhance our website effectiveness with aesthetics, communicate both internal and external marketing clearly, and commit to upholding our WSU Tech Visual Standards in every project.

Overview / Job Summary :

Bring enthusiasm, creativity, determination, and a hard-working attitude to the forefront as you play a crucial role in the Strategic Communication department's core mission of boosting enrollment at WSU Tech.

The Visual Designer position encompasses a range of responsibilities such as designing graphics for both print and web, efficiently managing multiple projects and their associated timelines, providing support during events, and contributing to marketing campaigns.

Upholding organizational brand visual standards is a key aspect of this role, ensuring consistency and alignment.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will vary, but are not limited to :

• Leverage your design expertise to create captivating visuals for both print and web mediums. Your designs will be a key driver in conveying our brand message and attracting potential students.
• Showcase your ability to juggle multiple projects while maintaining impeccable attention to detail. You'll be responsible for managing project timelines to ensure our campaigns and initiatives run smoothly.
• Assist in enhancing the impact of events through your design contributions. Your creativity will help us create immersive event experiences that leave a lasting impression.
• Collaborate with our strategic communications team and other teams in the college to craft compelling visuals that resonate with our target audience.

Your designs will be an integral part of our efforts to drive enrollment growth.

Uphold and respect our organizational brand visual standards. Your keen eye for detail will ensure that our messaging remains consistent, professional, and aligned with our identity.

This involves prioritizing self-improvement through continuous learning, skill enhancement, and staying updated on industry trends.

It also entails being open to taking on extra tasks assigned by superiors to support the department and organization's success.

Education :

Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, Media Production, Fine Arts, or a related field is preferred . Consideration may be given to a combination of relevant experience and education to fulfill this requirement.

Preferred Experience & Skills :

• A minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in creative design is required .
• Strong proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite is required .
• Showcase a progressive work history through a robust online and / or print portfolio that demonstrates high-quality work for both web and print, is required .
• Sound understanding of composition, layout, typography, color theory, and other core graphic design principles is required .
• Proven capability to innovate new approaches and autonomously oversee projects is required.
• Knowledge of Photography, especially with DSLR cameras, is preferred .

Additional Requirements :

• Exceptional multitasking skills and a proven ability to manage deadlines with strong organizational aptitude.
• Experience using web and social media tools to achieve business objectives.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Proficiency in maintaining workflow tracking within a project-based management system is required.
