Position Overview :

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As a Sous Chef at Happier Grocery, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in the daily operations of our kitchen, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, recipe development, and food preparation.
  • Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to ensure efficiency and adherence to food safety standards.
  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, maintaining consistency and quality.
  • Manage inventory and assist in ordering supplies to ensure the kitchen is well-stocked.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, following health and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to create seasonal and special menu items.
  • Assist in maintaining cost control measures to ensure profitability.
  • Participate in staff meetings and contribute to a positive team environment.

Qualifications :

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role in a fast-paced kitchen.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety standards.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Passion for healthy cooking and sustainable ingredients.

Salary Range : $60,000- $65,000 anually
