The Assistant General Manager will be tasked with executing the vision of the Board of Directors in an articulate, professional, personable fashion.

The ideal Assistant General Manager should have 5 plus years of progressive club management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a similar country club or luxury environment.

The candidate must have a proven record of successful financial and operational management skills, with strong leadership skills.

The Assistant General Manager will directly supervise the Golf Operations, Wellness (Fitness, Spa and Pool), and Sports Courts departments while playing an active role in the day-to-day operations of the club.

Job Title : Assistant General Manager

General Purpose :

Assists in directing and overseeing all aspects of hospitality and member experience at the club. The Assistant General Manager is responsible for directly overseeing Golf Operations, Wellness, and Sports Courts amenities at the club.

Responsibilities may expand to include other areas like Food and Beverage, Lifestyle, Facilities Maintenance, Housekeeping, and HOA.

This position will report to the GM and interface with Board and Committee members as well as senior corporate leadership on a regular basis.

Key Responsibilities of the Assistant General Manager :

  • Assist with development, administration and achievement of long term / strategic and annual business plans, operating reports and general policies and procedures.
  • Organizes the compilation of all necessary data required to prepare timely and accurate annual budgets for direct report departments, as well as coordinates the preparation of the Club’s annual business plan for those areas and in conjunction with the entire club.
  • Monitors monthly and quarterly financial reports / statements, revenue goals and expenses as well as generating various (weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual) business reports and forecasts.

Monitors business volume forecast and advises changes to plans or programs, in areas of manpower, productivity, COS, operating costs and other Recommends effective corrective action, as needed.

Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates;

addressing complaints and resolving problems within direct report departments and in conjunction with the entire club.

  • Oversees inventories to assess control reliability. Identifies opportunities to control product costs and other Works with Controller to ensure compliance with purchasing policies and procedures and that club is benefiting from Troon vendor relationships and national accounts.

  • Ensures direct report departments operate in accordance with all applicable local, state and federal Maintains relationships with police, fire, liquor control board and other governmental agencies as well as ensuring cleanliness and sanitation levels to Health Department required standards at all times.
  • Oversees training programs, including train the trainer programs, safety and other training programs.
  • Monitors basic personnel policy, reviews policies relating to personnel actions and training along with professional development programs.

Updates and oversees implementation of policies and procedures for direct report departments, including compliance with all company Recommends improvements as necessary.

Monitors the Club’s overall safe-work practices and coordinates ongoing safety education programs and ensures compliance in all departments.

Emphasizes prevention through training, inspection and preventive enforcement.

  • Assists in monitoring projects and correlation to business volume and plans accordingly in areas of manpower, productivity, costs and other expenses.
  • Activates proper procedures when handling emergencies such as fires, accidents and breaches of security or house rules promptly and in person.

Minimum Qualifications for the Assistant General Manager :

Bachelor’s degree (BA) from college or university; or four to six years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
