Software Deployment Manager

Description

SAIC has a new opportunity for a System Engineer / Software Deployment Manager at Offutt AFB, Nebraska providing software deployment and test support to the USSTRATCOM Strategic Mission Planning and Execution System (SMPES) software development and delivery.

Provides deployment test and evaluation of software installation process. This includes developing and documenting deployment plans and procedures, conduct functional testing, and evaluating and documenting results.

Prepares studies, plans, and analyses.

Duties Include :

Deploy any SMPES system or component to C2F Zone A or TS (Dev or Test)

o This includes applications using containers, container orchestration, mid-Tiers (Weblogic, JBOSS, etc.) and enterprise gateways (CA API Gateway, etc.)

o Prepares studies, plans, and analyses

• Verify and validate AFLCMC or contractor developed deployment procedures are easily understandable, accurate and compete
• Troubleshoot deployment and environment integration issues with the goal of delivering testable software deployments to J56
• Work with Stakeholders, PMO and System Owners to satisfy customer requests for software tools and environment permissions in the target test environment.

Grant testers required permissions where applicable and coordinate permission requirements with other organizations where necessary.

• Coordinate and work with Customer to design and build test data sets for the target environment and application functionality of interest.
• Coordinate and work with Stakeholders, System Owners and Customer to satisfy application needs for resources (other applications, services, data sources, etc.

• Document defects in deployment procedures and provide to government representative for submission, then work cooperatively with PMO team to correct them
• Research, champion, then work with Program Office counterparts to standardize and improve of deployment procedures with an eye toward automation and elimination of man in the loop
• Research, champion then work with Program Office counterparts to develop and automate site specific post deployment customization
• Write test plans and conduct tests of the upgraded Nuclear Planning and Execution System applications and Oracle database repository on the Multiple Levels of Classified Networks.
• Participate in an integrated team operating under an Agile Framework.
• Coordinate the activities of customer and user test personnel.
• Document deployment and test results.
• Support software requirements and project management processes.

Qualifications

Expertise in configuration and use of technologies used in the SMPES PBS (Kubernetes, Docker, Python, Apache, Rancher K8s, RedHat (RHEL, Cockpit, JBOSS), Ansible), Oracle Weblogic and CA API gateways.

o Experience with Red Hat Linux 8.10

o Experience with containers using Kubernetes cluster (K8), Racher K8, and Dockers

o Experience Oracle Database new version; preferred 19c; Oracle Weblogic and CA API gateways

o Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience w / engineering degree or equivalent; Masters and three (3) years or more experience;

PhD and 0 years related experience. Five years related experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree Active TS / SCI Clearance

o Experience with Agile project management tools including Jira and Confluence

o Experience with software development toolsets using Apache, Python, Cockpit, and JBOSS

o Experience with networking (i.e. Cisco, Netapp storage networking)

o Meet 8140 requirement by having Information Assurance Certificate (e.g., security + or CISSP) and operating system cert (e.g., Red Hat Linux)

o Experience utilizing continuous monitoring / security tools.

o Ability to review SEIM strategies and SEIM tools and provide recommendation on how to integrate into the delivered product.

o Familiar with cloud infrastructure and cloud principles.
