The Supply Chain & Distribution Coordinator is responsible for inventory management, load planning, carrier selection, load tracking & servicing to customers, and serves as the primary liaison between third-party warehouses, logistics providers, and customers.
To ensure success in this position you need maintain current knowledge of freight carrier services. Top applicants are customer-oriented, and have the ability to multitask in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Please note, this role is located in Miamisburg, OH and would require the candidate to be onsite at that location.
Qualifications
Key Accountabilities :
- Daily warehouse inventory management
- Identifying, negotiating with, and selecting reputable and safe carriers for freight services
- Provide customers with shipping quotes and act as primary liaison between logistics providers and customers
- Utilization of MercuryGate TMS system, using experience, market knowledge, transit times, and carrier routing guides to book orders and track loads from warehouse to customer
- Collaborating with shippers, carriers and dispatchers to manage scheduled pickups and deliveries
- Monitor shipments for on-time delivery
- Working with our 3PL partners holding them accountable for inventory accuracy and service
- Resolve EDI issues pertaining to inventory
- Expedite shipments when requested
- Updating customers on status of shipments and assisting with other inquiries.
- Maintaining current knowledge of market trends in transportation marketplace.
- Support growing the customer’s current book of business by providing excellent customer service.
- Manages and builds carrier relationships.
- Provides data entry and systems management to support various systems (order entry, routing and dispatching, and or traffic coordination.)
- Maintain compliance with SOX
Personal qualities
Required Experience and Education :
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field. May consider related years of experience.
- 1-2 Years of Experience in Transportation Planning, Logistics, Distribution, or Planning and Scheduling
Travel : Minimal
Minimum Required Skills :
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required
- Proficient to Advanced skillset with Microsoft Excel
Preferred Skills :
- Knowledge of the transportation industry and Supply Chain strategies
- Prior utilization of SAP ERP Software
- Ability to learn quickly, adapt to new environment, prioritize and multi-task
- Ability to manage stress levels in a positive manor
- Experience in negotiating rates with transportation providers
- Ability to provide timely and accurate information to both internal and external customers
